My special bag.

Of all days, the day on which one has not
laughed is the one most surely wasted.
-Nicholas Sebastien Roch Chamfort, Maxims and Considerations.

This is one of my most treasured possessions (besides my wonderful husband). A simple, sweet little bag. I have carried this bag with me to piano practice when the boys were younger, to the doctor's surgery waiting my turn, driving to Perth (whilst being a passenger of course!), and to so many other places I have been.

I remember being unsure if I could join the shapes nicely, but it wasn't too bad at all. I love the redwork and hunting through my scrap bag for all the different material to put together.

I just love to stitch and I adore all the flowers and girls that I stitched.

You might notice that all the ladies have different wings as well. The row of flowers at the bottom of the bag looks stunning. I am not sure of the magazine I found the pattern in, but I know I still have the magazine somewhere in the house.

I went for a drive to the hospital today to drop off the vests I have knitted for the African babies collection. The hospital is so thankful for any donations they receive. I can now make way for some knitting for myself. Even though our weather has been 40 C +, I still have to knit especially at the night time. Oh my darling Pixie is quite the little farmer Joe. He has grown these lovely tomatoes and capsicums and they really taste yummy.

I was looking for something in the cupboard today and out popped an old envelope with old photo's in it. I had a look through and found photo's of when my Dad was a young man. I know he must've looked like this.......

but I don't remember him this way. There are several other photo's of my Dad's, and I assume they are members of his family. Dad was very private, and we never knew anything much of his upbringing or family. But in several photo's Dad has this gentleman with him and Dad did tell me this man was a cousin of his. Unfortunately I do not know the man's name.

This picture was taken in Poland. The men always would dress in suits when they went into town. No thongs and shorts for those men. My parent were immigrants to Australia and came out by themselves, so drats and darnation, we didn't have that warm buzzy love given to us by Grandparents or know what it was like to be spoilt by Aunts or Uncles. Doesn't matter, I surround myself with people who care for me and mine, so it's all good.

This is one of my latest projects, can't say what it is yet until the end of the month so Bev doesn't spot it. I am finishing off those UFO's I found stashed in my cupboard, so I'm not going to start anything but my knitting until then.

Now then I'm off to read up on a gardening book, it is too hot still to go out into the yard, so reading about it is the next best thing. The weather has been in the mid 40 C lately, so today being a lovely 'spring' day of only 37 C, I can at least step outside just to get the eggs.

Hope all is well for everyone and chat with you again soon. Kind regards, Anita.
