Finally!

If I’m weird around you,

it’s because I’m comfortable

Ok friends....I’ve finally got my act together today, time to blog!! Lol Surely I don’t need to bang on any more about the weather and how hot it is....but I do. We had such a hot day yesterday that it knocked our socks off, I had a good old granny nap to cope with it all. I thought I’d phone up Heather the feather to see if she’d like to come and have a cuppa with me, only to discover she’d also had a granny nap too.

Whatever the weather, it is never too hot to drink cuppa’s or knit. lol So that’s what we did...an afternoon of cuppa’s and knitting.

I’ve been invited to put my craft work in the local library as part of a craft display for the month of March, and I’m stoked!! I have started off with some knitted items. Well strike me down...you guys didn’t see that coming hey? lol

How do you like these groovy little booties? In typical Anita style....there is no ribbon threaded through them yet, but I do have some.
giggle giggle

Some cute knitted red slippers from one of the library books I have taken home with me. I love the way they are fitted

I don’t know about you guys but I reckon we often are so busy making things for everyone else that we actually forget to spoil ourselves. So I have decided to make a start on a knitted tunic for myself. The original pattern is for short sleeves and I am going to add long sleeves to my finished item. Click here to see the tunic. For the pattern, click here.

I’m up to a bit of skull duggery with this stitchery, so I can’t really go into detail yet. All I can say is that I’m so flippin’ excited about the whole thing. I sound crazy I know, but who is surprised about that from me?? lol
Oh man, how awesome is this little gem of a book! I found this one at the local library while teasing the staff to bits. Don’t feel sorry for them either....I think deep down they love getting hassled! I know I love hassling them. Lol This book has heaps of snazzy projects in it, and the colours are out of this world. Thank goodness for libraries!!!!
And no...... before you all jump to conclusions...this is not another addition to the stash, it was a mysterious discovery. I don’t know how it managed to come home with me.....true story. Phfff! Lol Since it’s here, it can join my wool stash anyway.
I’m beginning to think everyone who lives at my house are all slightly sketchy in character and mind. I’ve got a house full of boys who are whacky, offbeat, zany and odd, the woman in the house is slightly bent in the mind and the animals are cray cray (crazy) as well.

Is that really how a normal dog lays in the morning sun?
Well I have to be honest....I wouldn’t have it any other way. When the whole world outside can be challenging, there’s a whole lot of crazy going on in this home. I hope your home is full of love and fun, and the scary thing is....it’s not hard to do. Stay groovy gals, have a great week and round you all up next week.
Ciao, Anita.

A best friend is like a four leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have

Hey!! Can anyone tell me when this heat is going to go away? Lol.....had enough now. We are coming to the end of our very long and hot summer and officially on the 1st March it’s meant to be autumn. I might just have a chat with Mother Nature about all this....she’s not gonna listen. Lol

I’m so eager to get stuck into the garden and do outside stuff, but as the weather is too hot I will keep doing my craft work.

One of my most favourite things happened this week....2 of my friends gave me bags of yarn and scraps of fabric. Gosh I’m a happy camper! One of the bags had some furry fabric and I made this little toy below using some of it. I also had some scrap black fabric I needed to use up, so they turned into arms and legs.

Some of you are going to be shocked in a second when you look at my next project that I have spent a fair bit of time on. See!!! I am capable of putting my knitting needles down for long enough to do a heap of crocheting.

One of my customers has requested crocheted pink baby beanies, so I made a selection and whatever they don’t choose will go to market. As I’m not a crocheter as such, (following patterns)...I am pretty proud of myself that I was able to follow a pattern.
Another customer has requested knitted baby beanies with the ruffled edge in white. So as I do, I made a selection and what is not chosen will go to market. I kind of get on a roll and think this is a good chance to make extra stock. I have enjoyed making all of the beanies.....I’m not an addict I tell you!!! Lol.

My town library is having a book display and have contacted a few local artists and asked them to display their creations. I have been approached to do a display and I so jumped at the chance. I thought that it might be fun to actually make some items that were on the front of a few of the book covers. So I’ve started on these slippers.

My new creeper has replaced the one that clagged it over this summer. She’s looking good right now and I hope she stays that way.

I have been taking quiet walks through the garden at the very end of each day....when it’s cooled down to 32C...and I wonder to myself how the garden is still alive! I always marvel at how nice you feel looking at the flowers, ornaments and bugs that stroll around the leaves. It makes me feel calm and peaceful.

Well gals, it’s time to attack the ironing, so I best be off. I have this glorious Sunday to be thankful for, so I’m going to use it the best way I can (after the ironing that is). I hope you enjoy your day too.

Ciao, Anita.

Hi there groovy gals! I hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s Day!! Valentine’s wishes go to my old stallion Pixie, who is away gokarting this weekend. Lol

Phew, it’s been a busy week. I had an extra day of work, which was very handy money wise. Enjoyed a great afternoon yesterday with Heather the feather, and she was actually pretty civilized for a change. Lol We had one of those really special together times and sorted the world out. It’s great to share some timeless moments with a friend, a giggle and a chortle.....it’s great. Lol

You wanna see some of my finishes this week? Sure you do.

Come on.....let’s go......
Heather and I took ourselves and our tent to the markets last weekend. It was a bit slow but we received many orders. Heaps stoked about that.

I have been thinking about what sort of things to make for the markets over the summer period, so I though cushions would be cool to make. I love this fabric because it has the alphabet on it but in vandom order. It doesn’t matter where I cut the fabric as it doesn’t have to match only for the squares to line up but that’s easy peasy!!

Yep...some cute little ruffle beanies ordered and made.

A sweet little baby short sleeve top and the pattern was interesting as the front is off centre. I rather liked that about the pattern. Click here for the pattern.

 A long sleeved baby jacket

Aboriginal hat ties and head band.

 Molte grazie bella Laura
Look how lovely this gift has been wrapped. The typical style and class of an Italian person.
Awesome bird pics. See mum feeding baby?
 Got any more mum?
This is my toy I’m allowed to chew it. Just sayin’.......
