Tell me where is fancy bred,

Or in the heart or in the head?
-William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice

Good morning to you all. We have a sunny Sunday morning happening here in our part of the world, just the sort of weather to get you in the mood for knitting or sewing. I have finally finished my baby blanket that has taken me forever to make. I loved the pattern of the blanket and enjoyed knitting it to the very end. The edging is done in a delicate lace pattern that was very simple but effective.

Yesterday I found some material that I'd forgotten all about and thought it would make a nice table cover for one of the book display desks at the library, so I got stuck into some sewing and did just that.
Table cover
I had a walk around the garden yesterday and discovered the front yard is busting with pretty roses. I'm having a bit of trouble settling down from our trip to Italy and seeing how bright and colourful the front yard is has helped settle me down. Italy had so much beauty that everything else is hard to compare it with. Slowly I'll settle.
I have some more photo's from our trip to share.....

Tower of Pisa

A beautiful gem of a building tucked away in the tiniest back street ever. Could you believe this is hidden away?

More of beautiful Italy

Well I'm out of here to go and enjoy that lovely weather we are having. Can't wait for next week end to catch up with some of my blogging friends at the craft show in Perth.  For now have a wonderful Sunday and see you soon.

Happy Mother’s Day

Hello there and Happy Mother’s Day to you all. I donated some gifts to the primary school’s Mother’s Day stall they were holding last Friday. First I filled some plastic cups with sweets, covered it with clear cello and finished it off with ribbon and flowers. I had 48 white plastic spoons and placed one toffee in each and decorated it with tulle and flowers.

I have planned a lazy weekend of knitting and sewing.  Pixie made me a cooked breakfast today and that went down the hatch pretty fast!! I will share some more photos with you from our trip to Italy.
Some of the ruins in Pompeii
Looking down from the top of Anacapri
We've just gone through the archway in a boat
Eekk!!! One of the bodies from the eruption in Pompeii
Beautiful Positano, all the streets are like this.

I hope you all enjoy your special day, even if it is just enjoying a hot cup of tea, or sitting in the sunshine.
Catch you next time.

Cheers, Anita.

I'm back!!!

Bellissimo Italy

A warm hello to you all, I have returned to blog land. My family and I have been in Italy these last few weeks and have just returned. Italy truly is one of the most beautiful places in the world. We travelled from Rome, Orvieto, Tuscany region, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Assisi, Sorrento, Naples, Island of Capri, Burano Island, Possitano, Pompeii and back to Rome.
We went on a guided tour and met some lovely people of all ages. Lino was our tour guide and he was truly an amazing person, we learnt so much history about Italy. Here are some pics......

The oldest ancient artifact I found in Italy!! lol...I took him home.

I have so many more photo's but I won't bombard you with them all. We enjoyed our trip away and it is something I hold dear to me. Of all the places in the world, Italy was the one place I have always wanted to see. How special to share it with those closest to you. On our return from holidays I found 2 parcels waiting for me.... a stack of felt from lovely Fiona. Thanks girl, I will make good use out of this.

Can’t wait to use these!
I won a giveaway at Cath's place, many thanks Cath, I will enjoy stitching this little beauty for the next FNwF's.
                   I love it
I best get going now to finish all this washing that has come home with us. I will enjoy catching up with everyone in the coming days.
Cheers, Anita.
