💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥  Why fit in when you born to stand out!?
Dr. Seuss
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

Well Buongiorno a tutti & Good Morning everyone!! The clock is ticking down to round up 2019, and I'm pretty excited to see what the New Year brings. I have finished up my orders for people and now the projects I am working on are for myself and also a few projects to restock for the markets.

I must say how excited I am about coming across a capelet pattern that is just the prettiest thing I've seen for a while. These little beauties are for girls to about the age of 6 years (I believe 🤔). They don't have any ties running through to pull them closed but they sit so nicely on the shoulders that no ties are required.

It may seem odd to see me crocheting in the extreme heat we have been having, but alas....I am full flight into the crochet. 😂😂 At the night time I still have that crochet hook firmly clenched in my hands, so rather than driving my husband up the wall with......"I don't have a pattern to start some crochet or knitting", I started just getting little bits of yarn and making small granny squares. The granny squares then were joined together and I started going in the rounds. I have ended up with an adult sized poncho, and I'm very happy with it.

It has now occurred to me that I am into the Boho style. I didn't know what my attraction was to digging through to find the colours that absolutely made a statement, and now I know. It took making this poncho to make me realize.

My stall at the markets will now have this big burst of beautiful colour flying out of it. lol.
Well my lovelies I am off to attack another 'boho' creation and I have to decide whether it is something I will wear or will it be for the markets. I will show you when it is finished!
All the best wishes for the New Year and may it hold many wonderful things for you.
Ciao, Anita. 🍒

Each day comes bearing gifts.
Untie the ribbon.

Hello beautiful friends! It has been a couple of weeks since I have posted, and though today has been an emotional day, I still arrive here.

I lost my beautiful pet bird Fred, she passed away today. I have had her for more than 30 years, I do not have a photo right now but I will have one for you next time. I believe there may have been an accident in the bird cage as one of the door frames had fallen down but Fred was not underneath it. She was a distance away but had blood on her. Fred was already named when I was given her and it turned out he was a she. I feel heartbroken, but time will heal. 🐦🐦

I found this beautiful flower pattern and just had to have a go at it. I was very surprised to discover how much yarn it actually took to make it, but ever so worth doing.

And then I couldn't stop at one, I've made two.
It is now impossible to put down my crochet hook, and for the last week or so our temperatures in the town I live in have been in the 40C's. It seems strange that I would still crochet in this heat but I can't help myself. 🤣🤣 What makes things worse, I also found little bits of yarn that I couldn't throw out, so heck....I have to crochet another little poncho don't I!!!
 Oops!....and another one.
The flowers on the ties are just so sweet.
My masterpiece right now is an adult sized poncho. I wondered if I had the intelligence and experience to have a go at this pattern, and to my surprise, it is not as hard as it looks.

So my friends, this, though only a short post, is full of goodies that have kept me creative and busy. I am waiting for the next week to be done in the way of work because I am eager to have a break from work. It is not the nicest of places right now and I hope next year brings more luck.

I send you all good wishes and good health. Happy knitting, sewing, crocheting and creating.
Ciao, Anita.

Noi non potero avere perfetta vita senza amici
We could not have perfect life without friends.

Hello there beautiful friends! I have missed you all these last few weeks. The time ticks by very quickly and often, before we realise it. Here in Western Australia, as throughout all of Australia, we are dealing with the heat that beats down on us with force. I know my friends in Italy are experiencing the extreme opposite, with flooding, I send you my prayers and love.

Still, the weather does not stop me from my dearest hobbies, and the knitting needles and crochet hook are moving fast. I found a sweet little pattern for a pair of baby ugg boots. They are made using straight needles and 8 ply yarn. No need to fuss while you're making these, they are so simple and so cute.

I met an interesting lady who has opened a clothing & shoe store in town. Her name is Michele and she comes with an amazing story. She has lived in several places in the world, and the one that struck a cord with me, she lived in Milan! Michele is very friendly and she will do well in this town. I came out of the shop with two beautiful pair of sandals. I have shown Miss Imelda Marcos .....Heather the feather 😂👠👠👠. I have never known or heard of anyone that has as many shoes as dear Heather. Imelda Marcos is probably the closest person to have a collection like Heather. lol
Lately I've been going crazy over headbands. I found a sweet pattern on the internet and I enjoyed the pattern so much that I just kept going. Some have been made in yarn for winter and I had some bamboo cotton and I made one in that. They're heading for next season at the winter markets.
Now I have the bug to try other styles of head bands. So here are some random ones that I've played with.

Do you remember the little blanket I made and showed in my last post? It's turned into this little comfort bunny. I thought it was going to, I just had this feeling. 😅

So after looking at the blanket part of the bunny, I got the 'bug' to make a poncho. I know.......I don't understand what triggers me off either, I can't help it.😜 I can't even explain this yarn!!!! It is chunky, soft and a delight to work with. It will fit a two year old and it will be nice and snug.
Oh.....my recent purchase at the op shop. Brand new yarn that I can't wait to try. A little searching first for a special pattern, and then I swear.....there's going to be smoke coming off my knitting needles sister!!!
Well my talents don't just stop with crochet or knitting because while I was at the op shop I found the yummiest of materials. My back verandah has had all the blinds replaced due to one smelly, scruffy, wet-nosed little brat of a dog chewing them all up when he was a puppy.

These blinds are clear, not tinted as our others were, so the sun comes through and I don't like that in the summer time. I have slowly been making outdoor blinds as I can afford the material. Now look how beautiful this striped blue fabric is. It suggests a Mediterranean feel to me, and it was so, so cheap. I purchased it all.

Oh, and here is the culprit right now!!

Yes Mum, I'm not doing anything wrong....I'm just looking.
So my beautiful friends I now leave you to go and find some ribbon for Heather the feather. Today I plan to just relax and do some crocheting. I wish you all a beautiful weekend, what is left of it.

Arrivederci, Anita.🍋🍇
