Footy on my mind!!

To accomplish great things,
we must not only act, but
also dream; not only plan,
but also believe.
Anatole France
I’m so happy about yesterday’s result with the Fremantle Dockers winning football!!! Good on you guys. Today I’ll be waiting patiently for the West Coast Eagles to start their game too. It’s always nice to sit down on a Sunday afternoon and watch the footy......I can also get heaps of knitting done. Lol.

This weekend I made this gorgeous little coat hanger cover.......
It will make a cute little gift for someone. This baby blanket, being knitting in 8 ply is getting a little tricky and heavy to hold now, so I better knit faster and get it done!

I thought I’d give you a close up shot to see what the pattern is like. It is a very simple pattern, but looks super.
So soft

Oh and my visit to the local craft shop got me all excited. Did I win lotto? No...just as good. I found this rather interesting thread that would do great for stitching Christmas things. Cute buttons and ribbon as well.

Love our little visitor? I moved Cory’s school bag that is near the back door to sweep and I think this little guy got as much of a shock as I did. I love his startled look!!

Who are you????
A great find at the local library. I have gone in for the friendship bracelets recently....I think the kids at school have sparked me off.

Well, I’d better get all those chores done before the footy match, actually I’m a bit distracted today about the footy. My other Corey is over in Queensland at the moment with a footy crew and I’m hoping he’s having the best time. Thinking of you heaps mate.
Right guys, hope you’re all enjoying the weekend as much as I am. Stay happy, love rules!! Lol
Cheers, Anita.

Knitting galore!

There is no such thing
in life as I can’t
-Anon
A jolly good morning to you all out there! We have noticeable spring change in the weather in our part of the world. The mornings are full of birds chirping wildly, not so cold, warmth in the sunshine......and.......the rotten blow flies are around already. Today is looking good so far weather wise.

I have had quite a knit-a-thon and have been able to make heaps of fabulous stuff. I saw a cute banana’s coat hanger on the net and I thought I might try to make my own pattern up and here is my creation.....

Like it? I’m, pretty happy myself, though I am going to tweak the pattern a bit. The pattern I saw on the net had thick blue and white stripes running opposite way to how I have my stripes, and to be honest......it didn’t really seem the true look of banana’s in pyjamas, so I run thin blue and white stripes. Lol.

A cute pair of bootees done in a favourite pattern I love to knit

Ultra, ultra soft yarn was used to knit this darling baby jacket in 4 ply

Someone asked me to crochet up these blocks for them and I said I would. The squares were crocheted in 5 ply Patons bluebell and it is the softest 5 ply I have felt in a long time. I don’t know what has been going on the the 5 ply yarns but they haven’t been as soft as usual. I don’t know if anyone out there has noticed that?
 I love the striking colours
Oh yes.....I did a stitchery as well (shock, shock) A fun little bag tag

For fun I have started to make this creepy little critter using an old hessian bag. I still need to put on whiskers, eyes, mouth and clothing. This will be fun in the library.
Yikes!!! Only a mother could love that head!!!
I’m so out of here now to have a squizz around other favourite blogs of mine. Hope heaps of nice things are happening for you all and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Cheers, Anita.

Sweet Sunday

The path to happiness...
If you pick up every little stone on the way
you will never get home.
Anon.

Oh cool......I am finally blogging. A bit late in the morning but I’ve made it!! Lol. I’m having a great weekend so far....

Watched the nail biting footy game between the Dockers and Geelong.
Did some sewing and knitting
Sat near the warm fire drinking tea
Spent time with Heather (trying hard to keep her in line)
And.....relaxed.

Here’s what I’ve been knitting........

A baby jacket for a new born baby. Knitted in 4 ply and such a joy to make.

I also did some baking and this is all that is left......lol

This afternoon I will be making some friendship bracelets just for something new to try.

I have oodles of beads so why not use them? Using up beads is completely different to using buttons.......right Heather? Lol

My latest project....

I loved watching the footy match on TV between the Dockers and Geelong, what a game! I’m wondering how Ashlee and Corey are today. Oops. Both supporters of each of those teams.

The gorgeous sunshine is calling to me and I’m itching to go and have a wonder out in the garden. After the kettle is boiled.....I’m so out there. Enjoy your lovely weekend and catch up soon.

Cheers, Anita.

Can winter go away now?

The only way to have a friend
is to be one.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hello to you all! Yes....I’ve been MIA the last couple of weeks. Everything just went into high gear and time just flew by. I have returned to work after a two week holiday and of course, anyone who works at a school knows what term 3 is like!! Lol During the last two weeks I have.........

Finished my cute little stitchery.

I’ve used up the last of this fabulous fabric that is so bright and fun.......
Knitted a cowl for Miss Gemma......

Taken poor Max Max to the vets. He is so much better now after having antibiotics.

Here he is sunning himself on his video chair (oh boy!!!! Lol)....

Just about finished this 5 ply knitted baby jacket......

Started on some stitching...

Found a super fab book from the library. Lots of exciting designs for bracelets in here!!

I’m waiting for our winter to give over now, I’ve been glad for the rain, but the wind and icy mornings are a bit much. I go to gym at 6am three mornings a week and I can honestly say I’m amazed that I actually get up and go!!! Lol
I’m off to check out my favourite blogs now, I’ve missed that the last couple of weeks. Have a wonderful Sunday.

Cheers, Anita.
