Great weekend.

There’s nothing worth the wear of winning,
but the laughter and the love of friends.
-Hilaire Belloc

Hey good morning everyone! We’re all having a pretty groovy weekend around my parts. There’s action buzzing around preparing for our annual show, a circus in town, Northam and districts small farm and business expo, an international ballooning event, Northam Ag Society sausage sizzle and craft stall, and a major go karting event within the Shire. Phew!!!

All sorts of things were at the Balloon Festival. People from all over the world entered into this event and it was lovely to hear all those different accents.

Check out these guys!! There was just this guy, his herd of goats cruising around the oval. The sheep dog, though you can't see him, had those goats rounded up nice and tightly.

These blokes are some of the nicest sorts you will ever meet. Hard working farmers, big hearts, crazy sense of humour, will help you in a second type of guys. I love hanging out with this crew......oh.....always tie your shoe laces up with double knots. Lol.

The ballooning event went well into the night time where 10 of the balloons were inflated. What a sight!!

Another one of those lovely people who you just love spending time with. We had some great laughs last night Chris. Xx You’re a strong woman!! lol

Mr. Moon peaking through
Dont you love the cute little face on that balloon?

This morning the balloon race starts. Brandon and I sat out the front yard and watched at least 15 balloons go over. How many we may have missed, we don't know. There were apparently 30 balloons. It was quite a sight.

I wonder what this bloke was thinking about?

Oh yes......Mr Bratty Brat eating my garden.
                        A thought for the day....

This is about as much as I can show you on my project right now. A peak of my latest show entry. I promise to return to normal in a couple of weeks instead of creeping around just showing you bits of things. As a matter of fact, I’m going to have heaps to show you.......after the show. lol

Speaking of ‘normal’..........just have a look at this picture will you?! Now this is not what I would call normal. Milo has just dug another hole in our back yard. A convenient holding place for his skate board. He seems pretty happy with it.....though I'm not! and basically, that's all that is left of our lawn. Oh well.

On that cheery note I shall leave you all until next time I post. Hope your week has been as super as mine has been.

Cheers, Anita.

Sneak peak

Love makes the world

go around

Several years ago I decided to surround myself with wonderful kinds of people to ensure my family enjoyed the company of happiness  in the world......I’m so glad I did that. I also extended my group of friends.....I’m so glad I did that too. What I’m really trying to say is that I’ve found some really funny nutcases that I truly love spending time with. It is good for the soul and I hope you have the same for yourselves. (I spent a bit of time with some of them today at the show grounds!!) lol

I’m getting all excited about our local agricultural show coming up in a few weeks. I’m on cloud nine with anticipation of what other people have made this year, the new creations of others and to get some new ideas for myself. I will only be showing sneak peaks of my projects from now on with the exception of some little bits I manage to make until show time. It’s all secret service time around here. Lol.
This favourite little kitchen hanging was a gift from my niece Lisa. It has come in so handy and is one of my most prized treasures in the world.

Pretty crocheted flowers
I found these rather cute crocheted flowers that take no time at all to make and if you’re like me, not smashing hot at crocheting but just get by, then this is the pattern for you. Click here to give them a go!
The small flower is from Attic 24 (a super blog site you all should visit!!) Click here for pattern.

I don’t know if any of you have seen these before, but this is the first time I’ve come across little boy coat hangers. How cute are they? Lol I have a plan for one of these at least.
I’m off now to do some more yarn bombing on one of my entries for the show.....I’m so excited!!!! I will return to normal after the show and have the time to visit blog land. I have missed visiting you all but will have a super time catching up.

Until next time, stay happy and knit really fast!!! lol
Ciao, Anita.

Believe it or not!!!

Good morning everyone...

I missed blogging the last couple of weeks but with pretty good reason. Believe it or not.....
Reason 1
I knitted baby blanket and pillow cover for a lady short time ago and it was admired so much by a friend of hers. I was asked to knit it again! Same colour, same pattern. This is what kept me out of mischief over this time. It’s just before show time so I really squeezed this one in. It looks beautiful.

After always stirring my DH up about being Princess Ebay.....I have now, myself, turned into Princess Etsy. Waiting patiently for my order, it has now arrived. All the way from lovely Italy, my 3 balls of incredibly soft wool.

Reason 2  for not blogging...I’ve kind of repeated my projects lately (due to demand), so thought you might want to see something else.

And here is that something else..
A sweet little sweater knitted in 8 ply. If you want to check out the pattern, click here
I bang on a bit about the way the instructions are for some new patterns these days, but really, this little sample of knitting had Heather and I bamboozled for some time. When I get time I will explain this one. lol This part of my blog is the complaints department.
Due to the weather this Saturday, the markets were cancelled, so the Pix and I went for a spin to Midland and did some material shopping. It was the best fun.

Do you love the selection of fabric I found? Yummo. I will be sewing up some little kids clothes for the summer time markets. Fingers crossed for success.
How about this cute dinosaur material? Gotta love it.

Reason 3 for not blogging is working full time. I have had the opportunity to pick up some extra work, and with hubby away working, the gas running out and everything going wrong that possibly could! Lol.....it was a struggle. The pay was nice though.

I’m buzzing off now to do a bit of house work and then out to lunch. When things settle down I will do some blog visiting, I promise. I hope your day is filled with heaps of great things and how lucky are we for each wonderful day we have been given!
Ciao for now, Anita.
