What's that smell?

However high a bird may soar,
it seeks its food on earth.
-Danish proverb.

It’s starting to smell like Christmas around here! I found a few yoyo’s that I’d made last year but put them aside, so I thought I’d make a few more.......
I stuck them to a piece of ply wood and made this cute Christmas wreath. I thought I’d add a few buttons on there as well.

I seem to be on a roll with Chrissy projects, on my knitting needles is a mitten on the go....and what else?.......

  What are friends for?.......
helping to feed my addiction. Good on ya Heather! Lol Gorgeous beads and ribbon for me.
Sweet little Chrissy trees are made from scraps of material.  This idea is from Pinterest.
Our local library is stocked with wonderful books for ideas, so these beauties came home with me this week. Plenty of really great ideas in the crochet book that I will be trying out.
I really can’t show too much of what I’ve been making right now because they are presents but can show and tell....hmm.....after Santa comes. Lol Counting down my work days now, as it will be a 6 week break for me soon. Yippee!!
Have a super week.

Cheers, Anita.

A new untraditional idea.

All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full: to the place where the streams flow, they
continue to flow.
-Ecclesiastes 1:7

One whisper in my ear from a child, and I have been given an interesting idea to try......funky  Christmas puddings!
 They look fun hey?

While I sit with the kids at lunch time and knit, I come away in stitches and giggles at some of the funny things they say and their carry ons. I enjoy their company so much. Just recently I was showing the group my knitting project which was a traditional Christmas pudding.....brown and white. One of the kids said I should make one in lime green....LIME GREEN! After going into a silent conniption and melt down, I got myself together and thought...well why not? Have a try....and I did. What a super idea.

This week I have been thinking about Christmas and have made a start on a secret gift. This is the time of year when the stitching and stitcheries start. I’m trying hard to put the knitting needles and crochet hooks down but it’s been difficult.....and it hasn’t really happened for me. Lol. Here is a sneak peak of some stitchery .....

Had to use the leftover ball of yarn to make a cute head band and flower.

A knitted Santa for our tree. I found the idea on Pinterest. I love Pinterest, so does Heather..ha ha.

Oh and this week I came across an interesting crochet stitch...also via Pinterest. If you want to have a go at the pattern click here. This will take you straight to the website. It's fun to crochet.

Yesterday Heather and I flew off on our broomsticks to the historical town of York to check out the Craft Fair. It was a beauty!!! There were so many different types of crafts to choose from. With Christmas gifts on my mind I had to purchase this cute little gift wrapped soap for a special girl.

Oh......oops!.....I found this for me. Bit of cute bling to wear on my wrist. Very cool.
This coming week will see me concentrating on getting Christmas together in the way of really getting stuck into handmade Christmas gifts for my family and close friends. It is always a fun time of year for us and making gifts is the best fun for me.
What are you up to this week? Whatever it is be happy and have a terrific time.

Cheers, Anita.

A brand new week.

Sow good services; sweet remembrances will grow
from them.
-Madame de Stael
Thank you to all my blogger friends out there for the stream of lovely emails and comments on the loss of our pet Max last week. It was so nice to feel all the kindness and luv from you,  It has helped  us mend our broken hearts. The sun rises again each day and we carry on.

This week I had a go at some small projects and have finished off a project I have been steadily chipping away at. A rather cute plate of knitted Christmas puddings now complete. These are for a special group of people who I laugh with, tease (not like me lol), and spend heaps of time with. I won’t say who they are in case they read this.

A little bit of knitting happening........I have actually made both bootees, but....you guys know what I’m like, I haven’t stitched them up or added ribbon yet. lol

A cute little beaded girl......she’s sold!! Everyone loves these and they’re very cute as gifts.

It’s already smelling like Christmas around here and I’m having fun with making some crocheted decorations. Beads have always been fun to me, they seem to add happiness to anything you make.

I have moved the bird bath from my favourite place in the garden to Max’s favourite place. It is now on top of his resting place.

I had heaps of fun yesterday with Heather the feather........I made her a lovely cup of tea and then............I showed her Pinterest on the computer!!! Lol.....you all know what happens when you get onto Pinterest.........we were lost for ages. I love teasing that girl.
I’m looking forward to a bright new week ahead and have lots of plans to make a good start on some new craft work. Hope your week was super and the coming week is super duper!!!

Cheers, Anita.
