The perfect winter day.

Of this be sure:
You do not find a happy life,
you make it!

When you have the perfect winter morning, you just have to go for a nice quiet stroll in the garden, take in the fresh air and by thankful that your night turned into the morning. I show you my craft works outside in the beautiful winter air.

This week I have been knitting away madly to finish two little cardigans. Remember the pattern I had struggled with? Yes, that one. I discovered the problem and now I am flying through the project. The pattern I had was suited for a 5 ply yarn and I was knitting with 8ply. That's why the cardigan wasn't going to size. What tricked me also was the the pattern was knitted using size 8 knitting needles which are used usually for 8 ply yarn.

Soon in Australia we will be celebrating NAIDOC Day, a day where the aboriginal people and all of us come together to recognise aboriginals. There are many activities to enjoy and a day of friendship. I have knitted a beanie in aboriginal colours and also purchased fabrics that I will be making bags from. They will be available at the markets.

I had to quickly make up a couple of crocheted hanging tea towels for a lady too while making the cardigans and beanie!!!! I'm almost finished making them. lol I love the tones people are going for these days for kitchen accessories. I myself, am a 'red' girl in the kitchen but I do love the colours I am using right now.

I forgot to mention that when I purchased the fabric I also purchased the yarn as well. lol Now I have it from another blogger friend that it is ok to extend the yarn stash because you can. So that is my excuse for buying more. Thanks for enabling me Meredith!!!! lol

I'm just loving this walk in the garden!! I find all my happy thoughts here. Actually my happy thoughts are never far away but the garden brings more happy thoughts to me. My friends I see often, those I don't see often and for the friends who have travelled away....I find them all here and I wish them all good things.

We don't actually have any finches in our aviary but these little guys just wiggle through the wire and help themselves to the feed. Buon appetite fellows!!

.....oh and here is Milo. He is checking out to see if he is in trouble. lol
I'll just sniff this and pretend I'm minding my own business. I am a good boy...I never do anything wrong.
Yes.....I'm all good, not in any trouble. I am King again!!! What a poser!!!!

I am excited to say that I have four days left of work and I start my two weeks holiday. I am so looking forward to taking these holidays because I have some plans I want to stick with. I am wanting to try out this gym class called Cross train. It is on at times I would be at work so I have the opportunity to try it. I don't know how well I will pull up from it but at least I can have a sleep in the day if it knocks me about. lol I plan to burn the fire wood to see how that feels. lol....I know my husband will love that.😘

Well my friends it is Ciao for the minute and time to go tackle the ironing. A beautiful day to you.

Ciao, Anita.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything,
they just make the best of everything.

Good morning my friends! At the moment I am trying to get through all my orders from the last market day and slowly but surely I am getting there. I will not go into detail about 2 little cardigans giving me grief but I will say they are a challenge. Here is the first one....this will be finished today...thank goodness!! lol
Heather the feather and I had a lovely afternoon tea with each other yesterday. Instead of being naughty as she can be, Heather gifted me this beautiful old crochet book. I think I am able to tackle some of the projects in there now. Thanks Heather...you're a little treasure. (even though you are usually cheeky...oops!)
I spent some lovely time out in the garden yesterday as the sun was so warm breaking apart this cold weather we've been having. The brightly coloured hibiscus bush in its first bloom. I am so happy.
What else makes me happy is that our neighbours of 21years who have shifted out many years ago left me a tiny little plant from their front yard. I am proud to say after many times of almost losing it....the plant has grown to this size. I love it.
A new addition to my front yard is this Salt bush. It has interesting foilage and should be easy to grow. I am crossing my fingers in the hope that it does.
It is with joy that this precious little jacket finally has the ends stitched in and the button sewn on. Something you all know is such a hardship for me to achieve!!!! lol

So I'm wondering where the table manners are Milo? He will always enjoy being hand fed the spoilt brat.
Here is another crocheted beanie ready for the markets. I actually sold many beanies this week from home as everyone is starting to feel the cold.
I must also show off Heather's latest baby blanket, she is very clever with her knitting. It is made in blocks and then stitched together. Do you love the leaf pattern happening here? I have seen it on cushions but I do love it on blankets. Well done Heather.
Well my darlings, I hope my post has found you all in good health and happiness. I am pretty happy this morning...even though Neville sent me a text message at 5am. You are naughty Neville, but I'm sure Chris told you off. lol. Love you guys!!!
A beautiful day to you all. Ciao!!!!!

A good laugh!!!!

True friendship is when two people can walk in opposite directions

yet walk side by side.

Hello dear friends! My post greets you with warmth and the hope your week has been good to you. Mine has been a little crushed this week, and though it shouldn’t be, I feel quite lost. Lol….I really shouldn’t be, there has been no death, no injury to anyone. My gym companion of almost four years has let me know he’s cancelled his gym membership. I am sad, I am crushed and I am silly. Lol  He is going on a new path full of wonderful things and I should and do feel happy for him. Thanks for being a great gym partner, companion in mischief and an encouragement to me Ian. We can still do walks together and we’re only a few houses apart.

Talking about mischief, this is a peek at our latest "assignment" together as gym buddies. We have such a fun group and tease the heck out of each other. After seeing one of the guys using a Minnie mouse towel for his gym workout, we couldn't help but tease young Cameron. Figuring that he liked pink, I decided that perhaps I could sew a great big beautiful pink bow with pink material streamers and attach it to the back of his vehicle. Here is a good photo of what we stuck on Cameron's car......

I had to wait for weeks before young Cameron came back to gym (he was missing in action due to seeding on the farm). So I waited and waited. Finally our chance came on Monday morning. Ian and I teamed up and decorated Cameron’s vehicle. We’re so naughty. lol

And here is my accomplice....keeping a look out....or hiding in the bushes. Whatever you wish to call it. lol
Arrivederci Cameron....why are we all laughing as you're driving off? Cameron always backs his vehicle into the car park so when he leaves the gym he only sees the front of his car.

An order for two Mickey Mouse crocheted dolls was the project to be done. It took me a little over a week of solid crocheting, to get these beauties made. I was very happy with the results and I have to say that looking around for a pattern that didn't cost the earth was a bit tricky. I eventually found a pattern that was a good price.

When the order came in for Mickey mouse I was in the middle of making more beaded dolls, and that has come to a sudden halt for now.  ....
and so has my scarf.....

and this little baby jacket.

Let this week be a glorious one for you all and may lots of good things be happening for you all. Thanks for dropping by and checking up on my blog.
Ciao, Anita.
