Sewing Weekend coming up!

Hello to all. Two of my darlings are off to go-karts in Kalgoorlie this weekend. I have already started worrying for them ie the trip, eating enough, wash behind your ears, you know, all the motherly sorts of things we concern ourselves with. I guess it is all just built in to our systems. While my darling husband and son Cory travel off, I will have the company of my oldest son Brandon. I have started my washing today so the weekend is clear for sewing, sewing and knitting.

I have had a very busy week, School Board meetings, P & C for the High School, and today I will be attending a meeting regarding School Board and that is  in between wash cycles. So today is pretty wiped out for me in the way of craft work but there is tonight.

Here is just one of my lady birds that I have made over time, they are such fun to make. I have been wildly looking through magazines for other small gift ideas and I'm sure I will find something soon to make.

I went to an antique shop in Guildford (a suburb of Perth) and found this lovely old iron stand. I just love the old household equipment and kitchen ware, it has a certain romance about it. I'm sure the ladies of days gone by would perhaps tackle me on that statement, as the equipment we have today cuts our workload down by a mile.

I found a heart touching passage in a book that I will share with you. Having lost my Mum, I found it very hard to cope and for years the pain was great. After I read this passage, I started to look at things in a different way and I'm so glad, because now I have just gone forward. Here's wishing you a great weekend and hope many of you get to do something you really love to do. Kind regards, Anita

In Memory
"You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she's gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on."
