💙💜💛💚💙💜💛💚💙💜💛💚
I opened two beautiful gifts this morning.
They were my eyes.
A good morning to you all! My stash of 'material bits and pieces' got to me this week, so I turned them into things. I took my iron, a thick old towel, a cup of tea, my sense of humour and I camped out in my sewing shed for a sew-a-thon. All these lovely country toned squares had been sitting there for long enough and in desperate need of a pot holder....a creation was made.
My most favourite colour of all is red and after scratching around the container full of treasure, I found heaps of reds and made a small table runner.
The fun thing as I looked at each of the fabrics was remembering what else I had made from them. I think that's something we all seem to do. Some pieces have more special moments than others. lol
Another cute item made for my stall is this child's cushion and toy bag holder. The cushion is approximately 35cm x 35cm and made in bright colours.

My talents didn't stop at sewing this week, for the night time creations it was wild knitting. This gorgeous knitted baby cardigan is for a 1 year old and this is my second go at it. I tried a new pattern for raglan sleeves and while I was knitting it I thought to myself it was way too big for that age. I kept going anyway and yes, it was too big. lol It's all good though, I have a cardigan to sell.
I'm in love with this cowl, that I've still got on the needles. Another creation using several textured yarns.
A beautiful gift given to me from Elisa.
And inside......the loveliest scents.
A quiet walk through my garden...

Today is my last day of holidays, tomorrow is return to work. I know tomorrow morning I will be a big cry baby, but I also know once I see all the motley cute I work with....I will be fine.
A good Sunday to you all.
Ciao, Anita.

Happy Easter
A beautiful Good Easter Sunday to everyone. It is such a lovely time of the year and Easter is celebrated in so many different ways, I have enjoyed watching all the processions being celebrated in Italy right now....breathtaking. As my boys have grown older, receiving chocolate eggs is still a favourite for them.
 💓💓💓💓💓
As I am also on holidays from work I have been busily dwindling down my yarn stash and have even broken into the stash of fabric I have as well. I had made a promise to myself that this would be my accomplishment for these holidays.
 🐤🐤🐤🐤
In my yarn stash there are so many half balls, little rolls and snippets and full balls. In some yarns there is only enough to crochet 1 granny square, sometimes maybe 2 squares, but in the case of the different textured yarns, not enough for anything to make. I've decided to add different textured yarns together....
💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮

This is the end result....a fabulous cowl.
And as far as the fabric stash goes, it is also the same for the sized pieces of fabrics that I can't throw out! lol Most of the time it is easier for me to find a use for the little pieces of fabric than for the little pieces of yarn. Elisa and Federica received these beaded dolls as part of their farewell parcel.
What could I do with the piece of Frozen fabric I had leftover? I decided to make up this cute little girls bag yesterday. I am so pleased with how it turned out too. I put it on the net and within a couple of minutes it was sold. Some little girl out there is going to be very happy. I am happy for her. I dreamed of getting such things as a child but money was always scarce.
This is slouch hat number four...a knitting order completed.

There is just no peace in this house.....why is Milo so spoilt? Oh...yes....here we are. A dog who is hand fed cooked chicken!!! Now let me see...who is the culprit here? That's a tough question isn't it my friends. lol

On Tuesday night we took Elisa to the airport for her 6am flight on Wednesday morning. We went out to dinner, checked out the sights of Perth, and waited at the airport. Elisa asked me to teach her to knit while we were in the airport. I was so happy to do so and you know what?......she is an excellent knitter!! You caught on so well Elisa, congratulations. Most people don't get the idea of it so quickly. Considering we had both been up for a staggering 22 hours...we both look pretty good. Elisa can't help looking good...she always does. x
This is us being all funny and cheeky. Well come on you lot....I had been good for so many hours....I couldn't help go all crazy. lol
Well I will let you all go and enjoy this beautiful day now. I have plans to get into my sewing room today and thrash that machine of mine. I feel like sewing up a storm in there, and perhaps my boys will be happy for the peace and quiet. lol

Ciao, Anita.

Arrivederci my friends
Oh wow! This last week has been one big emotional roller coaster ride for me. It is time to say Goodbye until next time we meet. I had a get together with Elisa and Federica and they gave me this beautiful pot plant as a farewell gift from them. It is a beautiful plant and I will water it with love.

Federica (coloured top) has already left to continue her trip in Australia, and Elisa is still here in Australia until Wednesday. Tonight I will be having a dinner with Elisa, so I am very excited about that.
Group photos, farewells, last conversations, love and last gatherings have been on the list all week. Here the girls are with some of our crazy staff members.

I have re potted my beautiful flowers into a glazed pot that sits proudly at my front gate. It will always be my reminder of those lovely Italian girls.
Knitting always helps to mend myself in times of sadness. These cute pink slouch hats are an order for a lady...one for herself and one each for her girls. Number 4 is still on my needles.
To calm myself down from all the trauma, I went and purchased some lovely yarn and material. I will use that as an excuse....lol. If you ever get the chance to use the same brand of yarn as I have below...it is very soft!!!

Well I'm on holidays for two weeks and today I am flat out already. I will be heading off to Perth in an hour or so to collect my youngest son.....another emotional story!!! lol

Have a fabulous day and be kind to yourself.
Ciao, Anita.

Work hard in silence,
let success make the noise.
Good morning all you lovely girls out there! I had a lovely sleep in today so I'm a little bit late at blogging today. We have beautiful weather to look forward to today with a nice 28C expected so I'm planning to use the lovely weather to my advantage.

Here are some beauties of Italy....bella Federica and bella Elisa. They were both presented with a school top each before they leave us. I believe they don't have uniforms for schools in Italy, so for the girls it was quite a novelty.

How happy they look with their tops. They were also presented with pens that have the school logo on it.

They have beauty, youth and intelligence.....

......a quick rest before they start work. lol
Lol.....er.....still resting. 😇
....and a little play.
My lovely week was consumed with much time spent looking for a slouch hat pattern and finally I found the right one. There are so many free patterns out there that surely it shouldn't have taken me long to find one. But no....it took a fair while. I did come across many out there that I liked but they were all patterns you had to pay for. I very much like the slouch hats or woolly hats (beanies) that have the bands around them and then the body of the hat. This one is a surprise gift so I can not say who it is for just yet.
A lovely niece of mine has ordered four slouch hats in tones of pink, so this is the start of them. I have decided to do them on circular needles so there will be no stitching but for the start and end thread I just have to sew in when I finish each one.
Actually, while I was taking the photographs outside this morning I could hear a pigeon somewhere up the in tree. I did a quick scan but could not see it, I kept hearing it so I kept looking for it. Here we are...way up in the tree. He's probably wondering what I am.
Following close behind is this little rascal Milo. He seemed very interested in the lemon fragrance of this bush. I wonder what he is thinking....I was hoping he wasn't thinking about digging the bush up.
I'm about to head off to the shops shortly so for now I will sign off. Have a good Sunday and as always I wish you happiness and I send that wish across the ocean to my lovely Italian friends.
Ciao, Anita.
