If I’m
weird around you,
it’s
because I’m comfortable
Ok friends....I’ve finally got my act together today, time to
blog!! Lol Surely I don’t need to bang on any more about the weather and how
hot it is....but I do. We had such a hot day yesterday that it knocked our
socks off, I had a good old granny nap to cope with it all. I thought I’d phone
up Heather the
feather to see if she’d like to come and have a cuppa with
me, only to discover she’d also had a granny nap too.
Whatever the weather, it is never too hot to drink cuppa’s or
knit. lol So that’s what we did...an afternoon of cuppa’s and knitting.
I’ve been invited to put my craft work in the local library as part
of a craft display for the month of March, and I’m stoked!! I have started off
with some knitted items. Well strike me down...you guys didn’t see that coming
hey? lol
How do you like these groovy little booties? In typical Anita style....there is no ribbon threaded through them yet, but I do have some.
giggle giggle
Some cute knitted red slippers from one of the library books I have
taken home with me. I love the way they are fitted
I don’t know about you guys but I reckon we often are so busy
making things for everyone else that we actually forget to spoil ourselves. So
I have decided to make a start on a knitted tunic for myself. The original
pattern is for short sleeves and I am going to add long sleeves to my finished
item. Click here to see the tunic. For the pattern, click here.
I’m up to a bit of skull duggery with this stitchery, so I can’t
really go into detail yet. All I can say is that I’m so flippin’ excited about
the whole thing. I sound crazy I know, but who is surprised about that from
me?? lol
Oh man, how awesome is this little gem of a book! I found this one
at the local library while teasing the staff to bits. Don’t feel sorry for them
either....I think deep down they love getting hassled! I know I love hassling
them. Lol This book has heaps of snazzy projects in it, and the colours are out
of this world. Thank goodness for libraries!!!!
And no...... before you all jump to conclusions...this is not
another addition to the stash, it was a mysterious discovery. I don’t know how
it managed to come home with me.....true story. Phfff! Lol Since it’s here, it
can join my wool stash anyway.
I’m beginning to think everyone who lives at my house are all
slightly sketchy in character and mind. I’ve got a house full of boys who are
whacky, offbeat, zany and odd, the woman in the house is slightly bent in the
mind and the animals are cray cray (crazy) as well.
Proof here
Is that really how a normal dog lays in the morning sun?
Well I have to be honest....I wouldn’t have it any other way. When
the whole world outside can be challenging, there’s a whole lot of crazy going
on in this home. I hope your home is full of love and fun, and the scary thing
is....it’s not hard to do. Stay groovy gals, have a great week and round you
all up next week.
Ciao, Anita.

That's so great about showing your stuff at the library! I hope you get some relief from the heat soon. Your fall should be in full swing in a month. I also hope you have air conditioning inside your house. I would die w/o it.
I find that yarn jumps in my basket at the store and comes home with me with no knowledge about it from me! Suddenly it is there! How did that happen?
Hugs to you and stay cool!
Meredith
Congrats on the library show. That's awesome. I agree with you that we should treat ourselves to our own knitting sometimes. Your tunic is going to be wonderful! I like that pattern. Hqve a great week!
Oooh.....display in the library....congratulations, Anita. I love those pretty red slippers and your tunic is lovely. Love the pattern. I can't imagine knitting all those pretties in your hot weather...but I suppose the show must go on. =) That is a gorgeous book. I must see if our library has it.....somehow I rather doubt it. Our Maisie always lies like that in the sun....it must be a dog thing. Have a lovely week.
O , you are just Full of goodies today aren't you? Those booties are So Darn Cute! Love the colors too. You are not the first one I have heard lamenting about the heat. A blog friend in New Zealand said the same thing - While I am over here in the COLD USA- Lusting for Spring to come.
I am so glad you are going to make that Beautiful tunic for yourself! You really picked a good one - it will look lovely on you and to be able to make something that you made will be such an honor.
Thank goodness for Miss Heather! She is such a doll. You gals keep up the good work.
hugs from usa
You've been busy, love the pattern for you tunic and the little boots are so sweet
Please post photos of the library display for us to see when you are done.It should look wonderful with your projects.
Your library seems to get a lot of lovely craft books in. I do check mine out but never see as much as you do.
Our dogs used to lie in the sun and tan their bellies, too. I thought it was normal.
Hope your week goes really well.
Dear old Milo never fails to make me smile Anita. Gotta love that dog :-) Some gorgeous makes here today as always, your new tunic looks beautiful & the wool looks so very soft. Don;t forget to take some pics of your library display when you get it all set up.
