Give me strength!! lol

Act as though it
was impossible to fail.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Did everyone have a lovely Christmas? I sure hope you did. Our home was humming, especially with our new bundle of trouble joy. I’m so excited to finally show you what Heather’s gift looked like wrapped up in the stitchery tag and calico ribbon I made........

You like?
Milo also enjoyed his first Christmas and even though we tried very hard, it was impossible to get a still shot of him parading around in his Chrissy hat I made him. I stitched his name across the front of his hat....

He certainly had a ball playing in the paper. He popped all the balloons by biting them and we were very fast to get rid of the pieces of balloon before he ate them.

Amongst the handmade things I made for gifts, these are a pair of knitted bed slippers I made for my sister Rosa. She is bed ridden and feels the cold, and so she loved receiving them.

What’s this?
no Milo!!

Naughty!!!!

Stop that!!!!

Noooooo!!!

Is that some baron land Milo has landed on? Oh no....that would be what’s left of my once lush garden!!! Naughty!

I suppose you didn’t do this either Milo?

He’s chewing everything!!!! Lol

In all this fun and madness, I managed to knit a pair of fingerless mittens. This pair I kind of concocted a pattern and went for it. You may think I’m mad knitting in this heat....yesterday we had 45C. Man it was hot, but when you’re a knitting addict you just can’t stop.

Today I’m plodding around the house, probably not going too far as I get up early to do doggy training, water the garden, feed the chooks and do any job that will be too difficult to do later in the day.
Have a super week guys and Happy New Year.

Cheers, Anita.

It's marvellous what a difference Milo makes.....

Until one has loved an animal a part
of one’s soul remains unawakened.
Anatole France.

We welcome with love........
                                                           Milo

This little bundle of joy has arrived just in time for Christmas. Milo is an American staffy and some of his hobbies are: chewing (everything), howling at night time, eating everything he can find in the yard and playing I spy with the chooks. Milo was born into a litter of 10 puppies!!!! Eekkk!
We have a couple more sleeps until Santa comes and I'm ready and waiting. I have been just finishing off the last of the handmade decorations.....
I found this cute little idea here. I added the things I wanted but you could do whatever to the heart. It’s a super little gift idea.

I made 2 of these hearts and sent one to someone special in blogland. I won’t say her name in case she hasn’t received it yet. lol
This dinosaur bag is for a really nice girl at the school I work at. In fact this girl has liked dinosaurs ever since pre primary and years later....she still likes them. This is one side of the bag.....

Here is the other side.

Tucked carefully inside her bag was a dinosaur bench runner. I'm sure this girl has a thousand dinosaur models and every things. lol
An early Christmas present from Denise, my partner in crime at work!!!! Have a super Christmas Denise. I'm hoping Milo doesn't chew this up as he loves the garden. Hmmm?
Chester and his girls eyeballing Milo and staying a good distance away. They needn’t worry at this stage, Milo is petrified of them.

To everyone out there in blogland...many thanks for your friendship throughout the year. I have met so many wonderful people while blogging, and your inspiration has been endless. To those of you who celebrate Christmas, may you and yours have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year.

Cheers, Anita.

My awesome week

There is nothing worth the wear of winning,

but the laughter and the love of friends.
                           -Hilaire Belloc.

Hi gals! This week has been full of fun and awesomeness for me. Winding down for the end of year at work, finishing touches for the Christmas season, saying farewell to work mates who are moving on, and an in credibly fun night with my Ag Society mates, have made this week heaps fun. The whacky crew at the Ag Society are a bunch of people who don’t even blink at my crazy antics......they are the same! I don't even stand out in that crowd. Lol

At the beginning of this week I made a start on a stitchery...

Had a brain storm of an idea for something different in the way to present wrapped gifts. I made a metre and a half long piece of calico, folded it in half and stitched the side, added a running stitch along each edge, through the middle I did colonial knots. What do you think?

I will show a gift wrapped up with this next post.

Oh yes......some new decorations for the tree!

Heather the feather gave me the most yummiest sweet apricots I have ever tasted....

Hey what’s this?.....not telling.  J

Since I’m full of cheek, I’m going to unleash on anyone walking around this house. Lol. I feel in one of those moods to just bother as many people as I can today.....perhaps I will invite Heather over for a cup of tea? Hmm......
I’m outta  here now. See you all next week.

Cheers, Anita.

It's getting close now!!

And the song, from beginning to end,

I found in the heart of a friend.

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

When I think of December, I think of the holidays that are almost upon us, catching up with friends, the lazy balmy nights, the swimming pool and chatting with my hubby and boys, no time limits.......ah.....it sounds nice and relaxing to me. As the Christmas season is approaching rapidly, I have put my handmade gifts aside, wrapped ready to go to the ones I love. Christmas is such a busy time that sometimes we get lost in the chaos and forget to enjoy the occasion. This year I am enjoying the slower pace and have surprised myself with how together I have managed to be!! Lol.
Come and I’ll show you what I’ve been up to.........

Last week I made a yoyo wreath, this week I made a styro wreath and what fun I had.......I purchased the coloured balls and hot glued them to a ply wood ring that I had in my sewing shed. Grabbed some ribbon and threaded it through the two holes drilled at the top.

                   A little wire ribbon angel......

I am going to add a gold button to the front of her, and

perhaps some eyes??

Cute hey?

Though we are really warming up weather wise, I love the

idea of knitted mitts on the Christmas tree......

Oh and now, just off the track a bit....lol....that’s me all

over....I dabbled with a bit more crocheting. I found this on

gorgeous Pinterest and couldn’t help but love the

popcorn stitch.

A cute throw in the making.

As Heather the feather doesn't have the internet, it is safe

to show you the shoe bag I have made for her as a gift.

I'm just loving myself silly here. This is such an

appropriate gift for Imelda Marcos Heather. Just need to

add the draw string and some beads.

Out the backyard I managed to grab one of the chicks

from this year’s hatching. Man, she’s gotta do something

about those hairy legs!!!

......and there’s Chester, just looking back at me to make

sure I’ve kept my distance. He’s sweet though, he walks

away really fast when I come towards him...he’s still in

charge!!! Lol

Discovered this glorious white carnation flowering in the front yard. Too lovely.

How is your weekend going gals? Hope you’re having the

best time. I’ll chat again soon.

Cheers, Anita.
