I'm a teaser!!!

Friends...they cherish each other’s hopes.
They are kind to each other’s dreams.
-Henry David Thoreau
Hey, hey...Good morning to you all!! In my part of the world I am pretty notorious for being a cheeky teaser and the lead up to this weekend’s football derby between the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers........I was in full flight. The two Western Australian football teams were playing against each other. So these tags.......

were used to stir this little minx.

Aww look at that innocent face!!!!
A staunch Fremantle supporter that Corey is made him a good target to tease. All these little tags went here
 and here

When Corey comes home from the countryweek/holidays we’re gonna be in big trouble......the Fremantle dockers won!!!! Eekkkkk! He’s gonna let us have it. Lol

Other things I can’t possibly lose in is this week’s knitting that I had fun with. I completed this cute baby jumper, knitted in baby 8 ply.

Another headband just needing a flower crocheted on the front.
An almost finished pair of fingerless mittens. They look weird but fit nice when they are on your hands. Click here for pattern.

This is what I started on last night......look how much I’ve done!! This is the first time I have knitted with this yarn and it is so soft. If you see it in the shops, I would recommend you buy some. My stash was purchased from Spotlight. It is a bit thicker than an 8ply and uses 6.5mm needles. Click here for pattern.

The school holidays are almost upon us and I’m ever so excited. I can just see that wood pile diminish very quickly. I will be planning how to set up my section in the pavilion for the show, even though the show isn’t until September. Have to start planning early though.
Today I have a few things to do in the sewing shed and I’m hoping it heats up a bit today. Good luck with that Anita!! Lol
Have a super fun day and happy thoughts!
Cheers, Anita.

It is sometimes enough for a friend to just “be there” and listen without saying a word.

Hey, hey!! A warm good morning to you all. It may be winter outside, but it’s warm in here! We’ve had a nice drop of rain, we’ve had sunshine and now we have the blue sky peaking out....it’s glorious!

Last week I was bowled over with a cold that was impressive enough to make it difficult to even lift my head up!! Lol I’m on the come back trail.....I’m running on 6 cylinders, but I am a V8!!

I have managed to get hooked on headbands since I last posted. One of the kids at school was parading around in a colourful headband and I just had to investigate it. Here is my version......

Pretty cute hey?
The flower was much bigger on the original so I went looking on the net. I found a rather gorgeous flower I liked. Click here for the pattern to crochet the flower. The video clip is so helpful!!

I have been busy in my sewing shed plotting out my next design and project to hang in the library. I thought it fitting that I might make some teacups with numbers on them and make a mobile. I am always pining away for a cup of tea, perhaps this will help me at work if I can see the teacups.....could make it worse!! Lol

What about these little beauties

Not made by me but another lady made all these squares and is having difficulty with the black to attach all the squares together. I took them off her hands and when the squares are connected it will be a blanket to be raffled off to a local dance group.

I’m going to buzz off now to have a good look around the garden and see how it’s going out there. I did spot this.....
A bit of colour starting up in the bushes.
This is where all the native birds hang out and make a racket.

I hope your week ahead is a fantastic one for you, not long to go until I’m on holidays again. These holidays are fun as it’s cold and wet and I can stay home and get stuck into lots of craftwork.

See you again, Anita.

Brrrrr. it's cold!

My best friend is the one who brings
out the best in me.
-Henry Ford.
Oh boy! She’s a cold around here!!!! I went outside to get some fire wood this morning and discovered way Max didn’t bother coming out of this kennel.  It is winter after all, but I still don’t have to like it!! Lol Looking for the positive side here, winter is great weather for knitting and crocheting, so winter does have its good side.

I’m wondering if anyone would like to join me in a hamburger?

I have been commissioned to make a hamburger, and as funny as it sounds, I have almost finished it. I had made one before and added it to the library collection at school. It has been so well received there and that I was asked to make another one. Just have the tomatoes to make, stuff the bread and it’s ready to go.
At work last week we had to make a humorous tie and wear it to morning tea. I was all in for that so I had a quick think.......and decided what a great way to have fun but to pull the mickey out of myself. What do you think about my tie?

I have ‘ash blonde’ hair by the way!!!! Lol
I think my work mates are concerned about me!!!
What else have I been up to?    Finished  knitting the pink and white cardigan, no button stitched on yet of course.
Pretty pink!
Lovely Heather has given me some time with her Homespun magazine. Lots of great projects in there.

Well, I think I’ll be hanging around the fire place today, unless we have a glorious sunny day later on. Had a great time catching up with Ashlee and Heather yesterday. Always fantastic to catch up with friends and share a cuppa. How is your weekend going? Hope you’re having the best time doing whatever it is you love to do.

Cheers, Anita.

Learn to enjoy the little things –
there are so many of them.
A big hello to you all! This week I had a pretty good run with my craft work this week. I decided to have a toy week and work away on a couple of little projects to take to the library. Meet Jill......
Miss Jill
Miss Jill has a felt face with button eyes, a stitched on happy smile and gold woollen hair. A cheery gold hat sits nicely on her head (to keep the sun off her face). She’s having a little time in the garden before spending lots of inside time at the library. Lol
Mr Teddy

Mr Teddy, who is about 6 inches tall is going to join Miss Jill in the library. He was made out of left over flannel that I was happy to finally use up.

Someone gave me this one ball of unusual yarn and told me to make something with it. Now....what to do???

Well. I tried knitting the yarn on its own...nope, no good. I decided if I added another yarn of similar colour that it would add volume to whatever I was going to make. Success! I added 30 stitches onto No.8 knitting needles and went for it. You guessed it.....a cowl.

I added 30 stitches onto No.8 knitting needles and went for it. You guessed it.....a cowl. The colours in the photo really don’t do it justice, because it is nicer in real life. It reminds me of lots of little marsh mellows though.....so if you see me wearing it and I’m chewing away....don’t stop me! Lol

More knitting????? Why of course!

A little jumper for Jaxon is in the making. The pattern says it’s for a 1 year old, but my, it looks big so far. I will keep going as the yarn is lovely to knit with.

A bit of stitching going on too. Just can’t help myself at all. I’m going to enjoy this very overcast and cold Sunday finishing off this little project.

The words in the little phrase at the start of my post is a reminder for me to never forget the small things in life add up. The people I work with are so good at complimenting and thanking each other for doing the smallest of things. I have really warmed to getting compliments for helping at different times, it makes you feel very yummy inside. I have learnt to do the same back now too. How do you feel about the little phrase I have found?
Happy sewing and knitting!
Cheers, Anita.

Surround yourself with people who
make you happy. When you’re
smiling on the inside, it
shows on the outside.
A wonderful hello to you all! This weekend in Western Australia is a lovely long weekend as we celebrate Western Australia Day. I am looking forward to playing catch up this long weekend as.....you won’t believe it.......I haven’t finished one of my projects this week!!! Eeekkk! Where the time has gone, I do not know. I do know that it was a mighty busy week with work, running around shopping, a couple of things popped up that I wasn’t prepared for and a trip to the city. That’ll knock me off my perch. Lol.
Several of my blogger friends emailed me and asked why I couldn’t go out to my sewing shed when it was raining, so I plan to answer that question. The pic below is of the front of my sewing shed and the door is open ......

and as you can see there is no verandah to the front of the shed. When it rains, the lovely rain comes straight in that door. If I round hubby up perhaps he can put a ‘lip’ over the front of the doorway (he gives me enough lip, it shouldn’t be hard for him...lol).
My project that I have been working on though is a stripy pink and white cardigan for a special two year old girl.

I have used 8 ply and size 8 needles. It is coming along nicely and I only have one sleeve and the neckline to work on. I should have it finished tonight.
Also..... what is this? A little bird I also started on but will have to finish. I found some left over blue 8 ply and couldn’t throw it away, so I made a bird. I will show and tell next post.
A friend of mine recently asked me if I realised how much I love chooks and cows. I asked them what makes them ask that question. Their eyes just travelled around my kitchen.....

...oh.....I get it! Lol
There are quite a few aren’t there!!

Some lovely donated yarn again and I couldn’t say no. It is as soft as fairy floss, truly. Another little outfit for some little baby coming up!

An interesting knitting book find at the local library.

Some cute garments in here.
Now, how is your weekend going? I hope absolutely amazing. We have clouds, grey and overcast here. What’s that you say? Bleak? Oh no. We also have a nice hot roaring fire, toasty warm house, kettle boiling and some baking about to start. Have a terrific weekend and happy stitching and/or knitting.
Cheerio, Anita.
