Arrivederci Ishma

Friends are those rare people who ask how you are
and then wait to hear the answer.
Awww....hi guys. I’m a little bit blue this week....one of my gym buddies has moved over to Melbourne with her family and I’m so gonna miss her! Lovely Ishma, pictured bottom right hand corner has been part of my early morning circuit gang since I started at the gym.

This beautiful dark haired, natural beauty has the most incredible mind, wildest sense of humour and a stunning body!! It’s been a long time since I felt the lose of a friend like this and it feels weird. Thanks for all the laughs and your friendship Ishma. I will remember all your tricks to get out of doing Wall sits : stop to put a bun in my hair; get a drink ; take my shoe off to get the stone out (that's not really there) and go to the toilet. lol

Arrivederci Ishma and all the best sweetness

I’ve been knitting some funky coloured Christmas puddings. I usually knit the traditional brown coloured puddings but it was suggest to me by one of the kids at school to  make some bright coloured ones. Kids are cool hey? What do you think?

Let me tell you about some chickens I know. There are so many chicken boxes to choose from and they all want to sit in the same darn box! Here I have two clucky hens sitting on 9 eggs, and every other chook has to squeeze in this one box to lay her daily egg. What the....? lol

I have written numbers on the nine eggs so I know which ones to take out every day when I check for eggs. It’s crazy. Lol

Here is Mother hen with her 4 little fluff balls sitting with and under her. Cory loves holding the little chicks but he’s none too keen on the protective mother eye balling him. lol

This was our sky at about 5pm yesterday, all grey and brown. Even though it looked like it was going to pour down, nothing happened....oh....except for the rather cute rainbow in the sky.

It’s time to get cracking now, house work to do, have to check the chooks, do the last of the ironing and finish off the weeding around the swimming pool.

I’m hoping to get into the sewing shed to get something done in there today. Fingers crossed.
Ciao, Anita.

Happy Birthday Milo

In seed time, learn; in harvest,
teach; in winter, enjoy.

A wonderful good morning to you all! And a special.......
Happy Birthday Milo

Born 31st October......Halloween!!!! (Typical!!!) Just in Milo’s defence he is starting to ease up on his path of terror and slowly turning from the dark side to the light. lol

I’m so precious! Blink blink
Does he want to go outside??? Not a chance.
I am still chipping away on the baby blanket that is taking a very long time and is now almost complete.
It is knitted in 3ply white, with 248 stitches on my needles. I am now on the homeward stretch with just 60 inches of lace to knit.
A close up for you, of the lace work. It is a beautiful lace but one I have to keep the pattern in the ready. The complete size when finished will be 122cm x 132 cm. So as you can see, it is a good size blanket.
I had to go and beg to Heather to sewing around the corners. She's such a friend and you will notice that I never bag off at her ever! lol
 I just adore the pattern
What is this strange thing you’re asking? Well, most of the Aussie bloggers have likely seen these. This my dear friend is to repell snakes. Not wanting to see snakes in our yard anymore and now that Milo is here, we thought we’d give these a try. Many people we know have these in their yards and say now they aren’t seeing snakes during the hot season. We have 5 of them spread around the yard and they set up a barrier against snakes...oh, and they make a ticking and beeping sound. We’ll give it a go.

Oh! We have chicks. Mother hen has been missing and has now returned from her hiding spot.
4 fluffy little chicks.

Well gals, fingers crossed that next time I blog I will have a new project on the go. I’m itching to start on some Christmas projects. See how I go then shall we? I hope you are all having a wonderful time with your own projects and life is treating you well.

Ciao, Anita.                        Viva italia

Can I help you weed?

I have my last knitting order of the year to do and its a big one! A vintage style baby blanket knitted in three ply. I have 248 stitches on my needles and it takes forever to knit 1 inch.. lol

I will show you my progress with this as I go along. The lace edging is going to be stunning on this blanket.
 Such a delicate pattern
White seems to  be the in colour around here. Even the flowers blooming right now are white!!

Well this was only going to be a quick show and tell post today, as I have much to do. I hope to do some blog visiting later on today, so I cant wait to drop in on you.

Ciao for now, Anita.

Good morning possums!!

Oh wow…….I’ve fallen off the wagon already. All of my heartfelt promises about doing other crafts instead of knitting has not happened!! Lol...mind you I’m going to defend myself here and say that I’ve started a baby blanket that is going to take me a fair while and there is no spare time for any other crafts. So there….I’m all better now.

I will show you next post how I’m going with the baby blanket. I’m really chugging away at this one as it’s knitted in 3 ply and a delicate lace pattern. What I will share with you today is my yarn bombed, knitted Rubik's cube. This was an entry in the show. I wanted to enter something in the yarn bombing section that was a bit different to the traditional things you see. This is where I love Pinterest. I have these favourite boards that I pin my ideas to and I was lucky enough to find a picture of a Rubik's cube. Sorry folks, no pattern….all made up in my head.

This is a blanket I entered in the show and one I enjoyed making so much. It is done in an 8 ply yarn, and if some of you have a sharp eye, you will notice the lace work around the edge is the same lace that I used on 2 baby blankets I have made a while ago.

Today is my last day of holidays and one of the plans on the list to do was to get into the garden. I’m so happy with myself for sticking to it, it’s made me all interested again in the garden. Being honest, I was on the look out for any slithering in the tall grass. I didn’t want to have any encounters with snakes. Our weather is heating up so fast that there have already been snakes found.

Do you ever love a particular project you’ve made so much, that it’s a bit more special than any other? This is the one for me. I saw it at the Perth Royal Show and fell in love with it. I went as far as to track down the entrant and ask where she got the pattern. It was quite a journey to get the pattern but it was so worth it.

Matching bloomers

A confession now…..I just had to purchase these beautiful shades. I know I’m trying to get rid of my stash, but I crashed and burned here. The devil made me do it. lol

Well today I’m going to be spending time with that wacky crazy bunch from the Ag. Society. We’re holding a fundraiser at a local venue and I just know we’re going to have heaps of fun.

Perhaps we will start off being on our best behaviour, maybe not.
Have a groovy day gals.

Ciao, Anita.

Well hello possums!! I missed out on posting yesterday so I’m sliding in today. First week of holidays down and I’m very proud to say that I’ve stuck to my plan of getting the weeding done. Two trailer loads and counting.

..................................
Last week I prattled on about doing other crafts than just knitting, so I am going to surprise all those non believers out there who emailed me and scoffed about that comment of mine. lol
Drum roll please!!!

Here we have those solid granny squares I told you about last post.....
And here they are together. As you all know what a slacker I am when it comes to buttons and stitching things up, I will have to show you this project when the buttons are on.

Some groovy material =

          super sweet girls skirts
See you lot, I have it in me to put the knitting needles down. lol

My little girls in sleeping bags are doing well at the markets. How cute is she?

OK....now you know there had to be knitting somewhere in this post, so here it is. I found a super cool knitting stitch from the net somewhere (in all honesty, I have forgotten where). If anyone is interested just email me and I will do my best to recover the fancy stitch. Oh, it's a coat hanger cover by the way.
Oh, and here is a collection of coat hangers. They have become very popular at the markets.
Hey gals, I’m so out of here now. Things to do and places to go. Wishing you all a very happy week and hopefully wonderful weather.

Ciao, Anita.
