Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.

Hello there lovely people 😎. So many things have happened since I posted last, and I just can't believe it. My youngest son and his girlfriend have made the move to the city and will experience all that comes with living away from home. I wish them all the best in the world and I know it will be amazing for them. I do miss them dearly but would never hold them back.

I have been crocheting like a wild woman, getting orders completed, making a start on my show entries and making gifts for babies. I found this pretty baby jacket on You tube and thought I would have a go at making it. I love You tube.

I've actually made heaps of beautiful things and when I've finished making all the commissioned items, I love nothing more than having free time to make whatever I want to. One of my favourite things are the circular crocheted vests. The one below has been made for the markets and I had some of the colour left over so I made a cute little beanie to match.

I am continuing to add to my poncho collection and this cute little number below is still in the making. I need to add a tie and tassels and it's done.

I have been very successful lately on our local Buy and sell Facebook page. I managed to pick up some cement garden edging for $60 and here I've made a start in the garden to include them. I still have to re-arrange the brickwork now but that will be an on going project.

I also was lucky to pick this amazing bird bath up for only $50 and it is very heavy.....and one of the nicest bird baths I have seen in a long time. It was on the Facebook page for 13 minutes when I snapped it up. By the time I got to the sellers house they told me they had received so many messages from people wanting to buy it. How cool.

At work I have received over 700 little reading books that I need to catalogue and cover. Volunteers have come to help me with getting the books done quickly. Here we have the lovely Neville and Chris helping me with the covering of the books. Thanks you guys, you're just gorgeous.

On Saturday I babysat my great niece and nephews, but before I left home Mr Balloon decided to fly over and be all beautiful. πŸ’“
So, as it is after 10pm, I think I'd better think about settling down for the night and getting some sleep. Thanks for dropping by and visiting me here. Peace be with you. πŸ˜‡

Ciao, Anita.

🌷 Happy Mother’s Day🌷

Hello lovely people!! We are celebrating Mother's Day today so I send love to all those mother's out there and truly hope you enjoy today. I believe mother's should be appreciated whatever day it is but since we have a dedicated day....it gives me every reason to sit here all day and knit...without any grief from anyone πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

What have I been up to lately?

I completed an order for a christening set and this actually made me very excited because it has been a very long time since I have heard of a christening taking place. Not just due to covid but truly, a long time that a christening has happened. This set has been knitted in an 8 ply yarn, I used the instructions from a book but added a pattern of my choice because it looked nicer, I like it just so.

There was a little problem finding the yarn, so in the meantime I started knitting the christening set in a darker yarn...in case we couldn't find the lighter shade of yarn.

So the difference with this set is that the instructions ended the lacy part of the jacket an inch and a half lower from the armhole. I didn't like this so much once I'd finished, so I changed it when I knitted the set again. It still looks lovely though.

I had an amazing win last week. I scooped these cement garden edgers up for little dollars.

These eight segments make a perfect circle shape and I hope to have them set up in the garden today. Fingers crossed.

Last night I had a crochet night and stayed up til crazy hours. I finished this little beauty of a poncho. I still have to make 2 tassels and it's done. For the top of the poncho I made several small granny squares and this gave me the chance to use up small lengths of leftover yarn. I then continued in the round using big splashes of colour to make this bright beauty.

Yesterday I was on  Aunt duties and looked after 4 children......loved it! But then in the afternoon I took off to join my group of crazy friends for a clean up at the pavilion. In true form, after the tidy up and preparations for our Poultry auction, the dress up happens.

The dress up is a reward for all the hard work in tidying up the shed. lol I look like a little gypsy, my friends - they look funny. Love them.

I am leaving you all for now and off to enjoy my mother's day. Have an amazing weekend, and thank you all for stopping by my blog.

Ciao, Anita.

I shouldn’t have blinked! My holidays are finished and it’s back to work on

Monday morning. I did have an amazing, fun and productive time though.

You may remember me saying that the gym I used to go to no longer has

the cardio classes my friends and I do, so we left.

I searched around to find a new exercise meeting place for my gang. We

have no other gymnasiums in town, so it was going to be tough. But guess

what!!?......I found us a new place.

Meet my new friends.. we are all up on Mount Ommanney this day. The

lady on the right of me in this photo is Rachel. She is an incredible

athlete and her circuit classes are tough. So these girls are members

from the PCYC club.....

and these new friends are members of the Running club.
I added this photo for my lovely Italian friend Verbena. Look what I found!!!!😘

Well I am very happy with myself that I have finally finished these three

crocheted sets for a customer. She wanted two blue sets and one pink set.

All the same pattern and size. I loved making them and even more happy

that I can now drop them off.

My spare time didn't last long because this morning I was given another

order from another customer for two christening sets. The sets will

consist of cardigan, beanie and booties.

The achievements I have made in the garden over the holidays are more

than I could've hoped for. I relaid and added garden plastic underneath

the brickwork ; straightened up the slab path that runs along side the

bricks ; and painted more of the cement balustrades.

I have a few empty pots that need filling still but I'll get there.

The cream brickwork is now twice the length it was, so now all the bricks have been used up.
Dear Milo helping me in the yard.

Milo being a snoop!!

Tomorrow I plan to enjoy the last day of my holiday and also to celebrate my youngest sons birthday. It will be the last birthday he celebrates living at home because he and his girlfriend move to the city soon. Next year for his birthday we will visit him in his new home.πŸ’•πŸ’•

Well my dear friends, I am signing off now. I plan to make a start on this next project because one day I would like to do some knitting or crocheting projects that I want to do to add to my market day stock. lol I blow you all hugs and kisses to all parts of the world. I think of you beautiful people all the time.

When I count my blessings

πŸ’–I count you twice πŸ’–

Well, hello there!!!!! I’ve been a little bit busy making baby booties for our market

supplies. Heather the feather and I had a real shock when we went through our box of

baby booties and discovered we were extremely low in them.

So here is my little stash…...

To be very honest, the last couple of weeks have been busy on all fronts!!!

How many times does this happen to you....your weekend is all planned out,

usually overloaded already and suddenly something comes along and pushes

you to the limit? πŸ˜‚ I said yes to someone giving away bricks. I realised later

that my husband had the vehicle with the tow ball and the trailer at home

 was full.

My friends, Chris and Neville come to the rescue with their big farm truck and

the day is saved. Turns out a trailer wouldn't have been able to tow all the bricks,

so the truck was a life saver. The total of bricks were almost 200. These are the

bricks pictured below near the trailer that would never have been able to bring

them home.

Some of the bricks have become the paving in my Greek garden and the rest will be
added to my Italian garden. Many thanks for coming to the rescue Chris and Neville.
You people are amazing.😘

Here is another pretty little poncho creation of mine. I'm thrilled to bits with how this

little piece came together. I love mixing all my leftover yarns together and making

something special and eye catching.

How amazing is this crochet edge? I have made it before however, I'm not sure what

the stitch is called. They look like little bobbles and add such a pretty touch to the

poncho.

Oh and here is Miss Poppy being naughty. My husband is on the other side of the door

doing his shoulder exercises, so Poppy decided to go around the other side to see what

is going on. She can't help herself but to investigate.

Another friend of mine will be moving away soon. Lovely Hetty(Pictured left with the

fish lips 😁) who is one of my instructors for exercising. Hetty was my instructor many

many years ago when I first joined the gym. I am happy for her because she will be

moving closer to her son but sad she will not be around here anymore. Beautiful Anna

(behind me) will also be moving on.

So my year of friends moving on continues and it feels strange. It is part of life and it is

a lesson for me. I have always appreciated my friends and the lesson is to continue to

always make friends so you have an endless supply of them. They are precious. All this

has made me wonder as I grow older....how easy will it be to find friends?

In the meantime, I am going to continue to enjoy myself, the friends I have and to keep

loving my crafts. I hope you are all going well and I send my love to everyone in Italy

who are in lock down.

Ciao, Anita.
